This time, I came to stay in Tongli Ancient Town with friends and specifically chose to stay at Blossom Hill Tongli Suzhou. Originally, I just wanted to find a well located homestay in the ancient town, but after two days of stay, the accommodation experience completely exceeded our expectations, balancing the atmosphere of a century old historical building with the comfort of modern living.
We had just arrived at the entrance of the ancient town with our suitcases when we received a message from the hotel staff that a shuttle bus had been arranged to pick us up. The cobblestone road in the ancient town was bumpy and uneven, making it difficult to carry our suitcases. The shuttle bus directly took us and our luggage to the hotel entrance without any effort on our own. Pushing open the wooden door of the hotel, the noise along the street was instantly separated. The osmanthus welcoming tea handed over by the front desk was warm, and the heat of strolling through the ancient town quickly dissipated.
We stayed in a luxurious family room with a bathtub, with a spacious and comfortable area of over 40 square meters, completely free from the cramped and cramped old buildings in the ancient town. The room was renovated on the basis of preserving the original structure of the old school building, with retro wooden lattice windows and warm wooden furniture. There are old photos related to Lize Girls' School hanging on the walls, and pushing the door feels like falling into the atmosphere of the old campus of the Republic of China. The bedding is fluffy and soft, with just the right level of support. After wandering around the ancient town all day during the day, my feet felt sore. As soon as I lay down on the bed, the tightness all over my body quickly dissipated. The bathroom has undergone a complete separation of dry and wet areas, with hot water coming out in seconds. The oversized bathtub is filled with hot water, and after soaking for half an hour, the exhaustion of the whole day is completely washed away.
The most surprising thing is the thoughtfulness in the details: all the drinks and snacks in the mini bar are free, and after visiting the ancient town and returning to the room, you can open the fridge and get a refreshing soda; The lighting in the room is soft and warm tones, so even if you read or write by the window late at night, your eyes won't feel tired. The hotel's hygiene is particularly well done, with no floating dust on the tabletop or windowsill, and the most common dampness and odor in old buildings cannot be found here.
The supporting experience has also fully stepped into the comfort point of the holiday: the hotel has a wide range of buffet breakfast, including Soviet style Noodles in soup, cooked grains Congee, and local special cakes. You don't have to get up early to find breakfast. The cats in the yard are very affectionate. When taking a walk, they will come over and rub against your hand, sit down to bask in the sun and stroke the cat, and time will suddenly slow down. The free study tour at the hotel vividly recounted the century old history of Lize Women's School. After listening to it, strolling through this old courtyard gave even the green bricks under my feet a different warmth.
I have stayed in many old buildings and homestays in ancient towns before, most of which were full of atmosphere and discounted comfort. However, Blossom Hill Tongli Suzhou truly allows you to immerse yourself in the century old history and have a comfortable sleep.
